End of Summer Nostalgia...

Summer has come to a  close and I'm finally entering my last year of university; I'm becoming a bit nostalgic. My childhood is flashing before my eyes and it's ending with a vision of adulthood. YIKES!

In 3 weeks, I'll be turning 22. Now to some of you, that may seem young, and in reality it is. But if you asked 6 year old me what my life would look life when I'm 22 I probably would have pictured myself as married (likely to Prince Harry), with children, my own house and as a doctor or actress (12 year old me would see myself with my own cooking show and 16 year old me would see me as a radiologist). 22 year old me is no where near that. 22 year old me is still in university, living at home, and loving it!

To date, I have completed 17 years of schooling (not including those very formative years of pre-school and play school my parents put me in) and this year I'll be going into my 4th, and final, year of university. I feel like I'm a grown up now... and it's so weird. Over the last 17 years, I have learn a lot of useless information in various classes that I have either probably forgotten most of by now or can only be used as an obscure question on Jeopardy. I can still vividly remember grade 1 where I met my first best friends and grade 5 where everyone was playing truth or dare in the back field. All of grade 7 and 8 is fresh in my mind, I still remember the stupid jokes we used to laugh at. I still remember most of those stupid songs we learned in elementary school french class, and even benefitted from some in University French. I have struggled through math as it got increasingly more difficult (and redundant), learned a few more languages that make me appear to be smarter than I may be, and got more from Bill Nye than from any science class. However, I've also learned some things that I use daily. I've had my share of horrible classes as well as awesome ones.

Although I wish some parts of high school would be a blur, I remember most of it. I remember the first day where I introduced my friend to a very pretty blond girl, told her we were going to be friends, and she is still my best friend to this day. I remember the first time I skipped class, the first time I was a real jerk, and how nervous I was for my first exam. High school is where I realized what happens here will have no real effect on the rest of our lives, so why put so much focus into it. High school is also where I realized my non-stop watching of Bill Nye and Magic School Bus will pay off in grade 11 biology when you're failing! Leaving high school was the most refreshing feeling because I knew who I was, who I wanted to be, and what friends could stay for the journey.

Unlike high school, first year of university actually is a blur - an ugly blur of Hebrew characters and microeconomic nonsense. What did I learn from first year? Don't be stupid and take 2 languages at once, along with complex math from a crazy lady who is waiting for the Apocalypse! In first year I made "lasting friendships" that were drama free and amazing. I had tons of lunch dates with these friends, and spent far too much money at McDonalds and Taco Bell. Second and third years were more or less of the same. Different schedules, so I got to see friends less, but it didn't make a differences because we're so close. I realized that not only is university expensive while you're in it, but you'll be paying for it for some time afterwards...

Over the last 17 years, I have made a lot of friends. Few have remained friends over those years, some have become very close friends, and others the friendships dissolved. Together we've gone through immense amounts of laughs, tears, and drama; some of which broke our friendships, others made our friendships stronger. Even though some of those friendships have faded, I still laugh at all the laughs we used to share. I cherish all the amazing friendships I made at my first job at day camp, all the fun we had, my first taste of drama (and certainly not the last), and first feeling like I'm growing up...

Now that summer is ending, I'm getting ready to go into my last year of my undergraduate career, I'm preparing for my 22nd birthday and a good friend's wedding, I feel like it's officially time to grow up. By next year I will be looking for my first real job and getting started on my life. It's time to let go of all the immaturity of the last 17 years and begin to move forward to the new life ahead. A new life that is bound to be amazing!! Yesterday I bought my last planner of my school-career, it was just as sad as it was exciting. But now I can plan for the future.

Goodbye Summer, Hello Life.

SHE'S BACK!!!

Sorry folks, I've been crazy MIA lately, with school and work (transitioning from Price Chopper to FreshCo) and... well really who are we kidding, that's been my life lately.

It's almost summer... well it's sorta starting to get warmer so this is gonna be awesome. If you really need outfit and summer ideas, check out College Fashion. It's the best. Also I'm major into Lauren Conrad's new website: The Beauty Department. This is what has been taking over my free time.

Anyway, I keep forgetting to post a picture of my additions, but my nail polish addiction has transitioned to an eyeshadow addiction. In the past week $75 dollars later I have a good 200+ colours to play with now :) I'll get to documenting this so if I go on hoarders or something, it'll all be there.

If you know of any books I should read this summer, lemmie know. I've also got to make a summer to-do list.

There's so much I've got to update but this is just a quick post, so I'll leave you all with this.

EPIC

Hello March

3 months into the year. The sun is shining, the wind;s not blowing, it's moderately nice and yet... today sucks bum! Or maybe it's just technology that sucks bum today-- either way!

Reading week has come and gone (although I hardly remember even seeing it at all) and now we're on to what is known as Hell Week. But this seems to go on for 2-3 weeks, so lets just call it HELL MONTH. Midterms, papers, exams, more midterms, tests, more papers, assignments, blah blah blah. I guess it's fitting since it is the last month of school before exams. Just to make the month even better, UW has decided to throw pre-enrollment into the mix; TOO BAD THE INTERNET HERE WON'T WORK!!! And now I personally can't pre-enroll because the stupid thing has changed my password and blocked me so I can't get back into the system. Thank you University of Waterloo. Take my money and don't let me enroll in to school.

However, in good March 1st news, it's dearest Justin Bieber's 17 birthday!!! So to celebrate:

One Down, 11 to Go

Week one of school has come to an end and there are 11 to go....

This week has been pretty swell, and today has been grand! Last night I walked into my new favourite store (as requested by Kelsey), Sally's Beauty Supply, and the manager asked me if I wanted an interview on the spot. Did the interview, so let us all together, collectively pray that I get this job!!! I also quit Crabby Joes and I couldn't be happier. Let me tell you, it was worth seeing cuz it was AWESOME!!!

Anyway, bringing back the song of the week! Justin Bieber's Pray! LOVE IT

Back to the Books

JUST KIDDING!!! I''m totally doing the opposite

I'm totally keeping up with this blog thing, and today is easy. Why? Cuz it's' the first day back at school and I'm doing absolutely nothing!

First class (8:30 am) cancelled due to a very awkward incident, thus leaving me sitting in the library pretending to care when assignments are due.
Second class, boring as sin. Now I'm sitting in the library, looking for jobs (again) and centemplating whether or not to drop the class.

Side note: Listening to the ol' iPod and realized, what ever happened to Aly and AJ?!?!
Song of the day: Like it or Leave It (obviously by Aly and AJ).

--the library smells like foot. MUST. LEAVE.

HOLY FRIG!!! WHERE HAVE I BEEN?!?!

WOWOWOWOWOWOW

Ok so FAIL TO THE MAX!!! I have not been on this blog in ages. I mean, I've had a birthday and haven't even updated!

Ok so school has started, and it's been... interesting. Naturally, the first day I'm pumped beyond belief, but by the 2nd day I've been counting down the days till Christmas... But as of yet my classes have been... entertaining- to say the least. Between the various professors, students, and random events, I can honestly say I've missed UW. Oh and the geese, the geese have been such a joy...

And uh, last Sunday I turned 21, no big deal (actually it's such a big deal, but I'm trying to down play it). On Saturday I had the bestest birthday "party" with friends... dinner at Mongolian Grill, free shots from bartender// new best friend, yummy cocktails, hot tub party at Nicoles... after that I'm not too sure. Work on Sunday was rooooough.

Lastly, I so proud that I have officially blocked people out of my life! YAY! In reality it's a bit of a FTW moment, but again, down play. I'm pretty pumped actually and soo stoked for the next few months :)

I SWEAR I'll update again soon

Living in the Library

Alright, so I've been on a brief hiatus from... well I guess life. The past week (after the trip to Toronto) been nuts! School, being the huge killjoy that it is, has taken over my life. In reality I should be writing a paper on Jesus right now, but obviously I'd rather blog.

This week has also been filled with MAD drama. Haha I'm not even going to bother writing it on here because it's too much. Let's just say MTV! You should give me my own reality show because this stuff is gold and is going to waste here! And now that I'm no longer in high school, but still have to deal with crazy high school drama, I think I should be atleast getting some ca$h moniez for my pain. I've started thinking of names for this reality show, so really MTV, CALL ME!

I'm actually laughing right now just thinking of the drama and events of the past few days- which is kind of awkward since I'm sitting in a silent library and randoms keep staring at me. Ha ha.

Back to writing this paper...
