End of Summer Nostalgia...

Summer has come to a  close and I'm finally entering my last year of university; I'm becoming a bit nostalgic. My childhood is flashing before my eyes and it's ending with a vision of adulthood. YIKES!

In 3 weeks, I'll be turning 22. Now to some of you, that may seem young, and in reality it is. But if you asked 6 year old me what my life would look life when I'm 22 I probably would have pictured myself as married (likely to Prince Harry), with children, my own house and as a doctor or actress (12 year old me would see myself with my own cooking show and 16 year old me would see me as a radiologist). 22 year old me is no where near that. 22 year old me is still in university, living at home, and loving it!

To date, I have completed 17 years of schooling (not including those very formative years of pre-school and play school my parents put me in) and this year I'll be going into my 4th, and final, year of university. I feel like I'm a grown up now... and it's so weird. Over the last 17 years, I have learn a lot of useless information in various classes that I have either probably forgotten most of by now or can only be used as an obscure question on Jeopardy. I can still vividly remember grade 1 where I met my first best friends and grade 5 where everyone was playing truth or dare in the back field. All of grade 7 and 8 is fresh in my mind, I still remember the stupid jokes we used to laugh at. I still remember most of those stupid songs we learned in elementary school french class, and even benefitted from some in University French. I have struggled through math as it got increasingly more difficult (and redundant), learned a few more languages that make me appear to be smarter than I may be, and got more from Bill Nye than from any science class. However, I've also learned some things that I use daily. I've had my share of horrible classes as well as awesome ones.

Although I wish some parts of high school would be a blur, I remember most of it. I remember the first day where I introduced my friend to a very pretty blond girl, told her we were going to be friends, and she is still my best friend to this day. I remember the first time I skipped class, the first time I was a real jerk, and how nervous I was for my first exam. High school is where I realized what happens here will have no real effect on the rest of our lives, so why put so much focus into it. High school is also where I realized my non-stop watching of Bill Nye and Magic School Bus will pay off in grade 11 biology when you're failing! Leaving high school was the most refreshing feeling because I knew who I was, who I wanted to be, and what friends could stay for the journey.

Unlike high school, first year of university actually is a blur - an ugly blur of Hebrew characters and microeconomic nonsense. What did I learn from first year? Don't be stupid and take 2 languages at once, along with complex math from a crazy lady who is waiting for the Apocalypse! In first year I made "lasting friendships" that were drama free and amazing. I had tons of lunch dates with these friends, and spent far too much money at McDonalds and Taco Bell. Second and third years were more or less of the same. Different schedules, so I got to see friends less, but it didn't make a differences because we're so close. I realized that not only is university expensive while you're in it, but you'll be paying for it for some time afterwards...

Over the last 17 years, I have made a lot of friends. Few have remained friends over those years, some have become very close friends, and others the friendships dissolved. Together we've gone through immense amounts of laughs, tears, and drama; some of which broke our friendships, others made our friendships stronger. Even though some of those friendships have faded, I still laugh at all the laughs we used to share. I cherish all the amazing friendships I made at my first job at day camp, all the fun we had, my first taste of drama (and certainly not the last), and first feeling like I'm growing up...

Now that summer is ending, I'm getting ready to go into my last year of my undergraduate career, I'm preparing for my 22nd birthday and a good friend's wedding, I feel like it's officially time to grow up. By next year I will be looking for my first real job and getting started on my life. It's time to let go of all the immaturity of the last 17 years and begin to move forward to the new life ahead. A new life that is bound to be amazing!! Yesterday I bought my last planner of my school-career, it was just as sad as it was exciting. But now I can plan for the future.

Goodbye Summer, Hello Life.

I don't think you can handle this WOOOOOOOOOOO

Before Four or B4-4

Does anyone remember this!

BAHAHAHA... I miss 90s/early2000s music!!

Summer Playlist, meet Macbook

Alright. Today I got my Macbook Pro.
After much saving up, lack of eating, and stress from a failing HP (friends, don't bother with HP, they're life ruiners), I got my Mac.

Therefore, in honor of this eventful day and my subsequent lack of funds, enjoy.

Summer 2011; Playlist!

I do realize I haven't blogged in forever, and that is partially due to the fact that school rules my life... as does FreshCo.

But now it's summer so it's time to kick back, get some sun, and have lots of fun. It's also the first hot day of the way (hello 43 degrees, you have been missed). For the summer I'm going to post a lot of fun random stuff, it's gonna be great! I'm also gonna to need a pretty sweet summer playlist filled with new and old songs:

Today's summa' jam: NO SCRUBS
Yeah, looove this song haha. As does my best friend. I really need a song of the day, everyday!

Summer List 2011

SHE'S BACK!!!

Sorry folks, I've been crazy MIA lately, with school and work (transitioning from Price Chopper to FreshCo) and... well really who are we kidding, that's been my life lately.

It's almost summer... well it's sorta starting to get warmer so this is gonna be awesome. If you really need outfit and summer ideas, check out College Fashion. It's the best. Also I'm major into Lauren Conrad's new website: The Beauty Department. This is what has been taking over my free time.

Anyway, I keep forgetting to post a picture of my additions, but my nail polish addiction has transitioned to an eyeshadow addiction. In the past week $75 dollars later I have a good 200+ colours to play with now :) I'll get to documenting this so if I go on hoarders or something, it'll all be there.

If you know of any books I should read this summer, lemmie know. I've also got to make a summer to-do list.

There's so much I've got to update but this is just a quick post, so I'll leave you all with this.

EPIC

One More Month Left

Alright so it's the 2nd last day of July, meaning one more full month before school starts and... MY BIRTHDAY!!

So in this last month I have 2 options: relax as much as possible before the crazy of school starts or, work my butt off so I can afford things once school starts... neither seem to be panning out so well...

I've also realized, several things on my list will not happen in the next month (ie. save money-- pfft who were we kidding, really!), but here are the new things I've completed.

12.    Listen to old music I used to love as a kid (BSB HERE I COME!!!)
Not only have I been jamming to my beloved Nick Carter (and the others), but Spice Girls, S Club 7, NSYNC, and O Town have made a triumphant return into my life. YES!!

28.    Make 10 new friends
I'm pretty sure I've made more than 10 new friends haha, it's what I do...

31.   Bust out in crazy dance moves in public
This wasn't even supposed to happen. But I'm pretty sure some Miley Cyrus came on and I was a dancing fool. OH YEAH and last Sunday, Spice Girls- Wannabe came on in Price Chopper... definitely had a 4 minute dance party alone in Cash Office, no big deal...

32.   Cut down on fast food, specifically McDonalds
I have eaten 5 fries from McDonalds since June 22... FTW!!!

34.   Make mama dinner for her birthday
Tuesday was my mom's birthday, so I spent a large portion of the day making her my own recipe of Beef Stroganoff-- I'll post the recipe in the next few days. But it was amazing... as always :)

So in the 6 weeks left of summer I have 23/40 things to still finish. I think I can do it. But that's all for now, maybe after work tonight I'll update the song of the week... we'll see.

SUMMER CLEANING!!!

So today I had the day off and stupidly decided to go through my clothes and get rid of the stuff I don't want. STUPIDEST IDEA OF THE FREAKING DAY!!!!

I went through my jeans first since I know I have an excessive amount (52 pairs). I'm now down to 29 pairs of jeans-- ps jeans are not something I buy often.
I also realized that I have 30 cardigans, 10 summer dresses, and an abundance of shirts (casual and dressy). Today has confirmed that I have a horrible shopping addiction!!!

Anyway since I have a clean room, I am able to put more effort into my summer list. Last weekend I crossed off another item:
23.    Meet up with Rach and finally get to meet Jack (and maybe bake something)
We had a Stanley's "reunion" bowling thing (which ps I have now learned I will NOT complete 27. go bowling and win because I suck so hard at bowling. The only thing I'm worse at is golf/ mini golf). Either way, as a last minute surprise, Rach Face showed up with her adorable son Jack :). Made the day, lemmie tell you! Oh and another added bonus to the day: POUTINE!!! Yaaaaaaaa!!!

I've also started another item on the list:
5.   Read 3 books and blog about them
I've started to read The Almost Archer Sisters. Holy cow, this book is soo good. More so because of the drama and emotion is evokes, but I'm loving it. I read 6 chapters on the first night. I hope to finish it buy tomorrow night so on Thursday I can buy another book.

Lastly, song of the week. Ma jam of the week is Jason Derulo's Riding Solo. It's so catchy :). Also, as anyone with a brain knows, I'M IN LOVE WITH MILEY CRYUS' CAN'T BE TAMED ALBUM!! Seriously, my new life soundtrack, so my absolute fave on the album is Permanant December.
Listen. Enjoy. Love it.

Saturday is Nicole's Stag and Doe so I'm sure I'll have a ton to blog about after that (if I can remember anything that happens hahaha)

First July Friday: INTENSE

Alright, so it's the first Friday of July, and also the first day of the weekly sales. Lemmie just mention, I LOVE GETTING WEEKLY FLYERS!! Love seeing the deals and planning on how to spend my money (wisely). Anywho, this weekend is a huge 3 day sale at Best Buy... since the sale is so huge I decided to go pretty early- like 35 minutes before the store opens. THERE WAS A FREAKING LINE AROUND THE ENTIRE PERIMETER OF THE STORE!!!

Luckily I was lucky enough to get the last ticket, and thus was able to cross another item off my summer to do list:
     37.   Save money for a new camera

So now I am the proud new owner of a new camera- the Canon PowerShot SX120 IS.

I love my camera, it's pretty awesome, and way better than any other camera I've had in my collect. This weekend is my weekend for taking pictures. Stay tuned to the blog and my facebook for new pics :)

Oh another thing off my list completed last Wednesday:
7.   Starbucks date with modeling friends
Megan and I met up for a lovely trip t Starbucks//LCBO to chat about our life's events AND get crazy creeped on my the weirdo old men there. Haha looove her <3

Happy July

Oh Canada!!

Wow, so the year is more than half over... time flies eh.

Anyway, today was Canada and probably my favourite day of the year to date. I also completed several things on my summer to do list :)

Today, Sean and I took a road trip to South Hampton to spend Canada. Long friggen car ride with just two people, but my dearest Ke$ha got us through :). Haha while in South Hampton, I got to meet all his friends up there, eat some pretty amazing fries, go for walks, see a marina, go to the movies, watch the sunset, and finally watch the fireworks. It was pretty cool because from the beach in South Hampton, you could see the fireworks going off at Sauble Beach. Cool eh?

I'm gonna spare the world the boring intimate details of the day, haha I guess I'll put those in my journal, but let's just say the day was pretty amazing.

Things on the list accomplisted today:
3.   Go to the beach
4.   Go for a long walk on the beach
5.   Have an intimate date night
14.  Take a road trip
16.  Watch the sun set
30.  Have a romantic moment
-- pretty successful day if you ask me, and I enjoyed every minute of it

Schooooooools Out, for SUMMER!: Happy Summer

Haha so I'm not even in high school, but for everyone who is, YAY for school being done-- and more importantly, good luck on exams :)
Oh yeah, IT'S OFFICIALLY THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!!!! HAPPY SUMMER!!!!

Today has legitimately been a lazy-esque day, however I did work and have to wake up mega early to do "adult duties". Lameskis.

Lately I've been thinking a lot. Thinking about the people in my life. I've realized I do not have as many friends as I used to... but at the same time, most of those people I called friends weren't friends at all. Perhaps that's why we aren't friends now. The friends I have in my life now are the best! These are the friends who will stick by me no matter what and always be there for me (and I for them), and I thank you for that :)

Since it's officially summer, I'm going to make a list of all the things I want to do between now and when school starts in September/ my birthday. First on the list: buy Miley Cyrus' new album: Can't Be Tamed!!! Yeah I'm beyond stoked and I have no legitimate reason why.... AAAH!!!

Anyway, the Secret Life of the American Teenager is on with a new episode tonight, so I honestly have to prep myself to watch that. Lata!

Long Awaited Summer Updates.... WOW

Alright, so I realize I haven't posted anything on the blog in WEEKS (major fail), but on a positive note I've been writing in my journal more often. I think I've got to find a balance so I can update both of them more often...

Well let's just recap what has happened in my life since my last post:
Last weekend was The MAG Model Search in Kitchener. It was freaking awesome, made some new friends, made some awesome memories, was an AWESOME friend and asked whoever to go to prom with a friend of mine; it was amazing! And guess who wasn't at all nervous... YUP MEEEE!!! Haha even saw Rebecca Hardy and we both noticed I was no where near as nervous as I was last time. FTW!! I think the highlight of my weekend was seeing/hear the KW Glee Choir. I actually cried at how amazing they were. It was great!!!

Since MAG, life hasn't been that exciting. My days are working and sleeping... probably eating and going to Walmart, but really that's just a given. I've started going to the gym. I'm loving my work out on the treadmill with my super awesome playlist. Inventor of iPod, I THANK YOU. I'm actually starting to miss school and honestly can't wait to go back in September... Speaking of September, that's when my birthday is. You're all getting enough notice now so don't you dare forget!!!! I'm planning a pretty epic birthday party-- stay tuned :D.

Finally, I am still continuing my search for a new job. No jokes, if you help me get a job, I will bake you awesomeness... just saying. It's a win win for both of us...

Back to my song of the week, it's not really a song it's been my playlist of June. These songs have legitimately been on repeat on my iPod and laptop since June 1:

Anyway, I work in a few hours (it's my usual Friday night), so I guess I'm gonna go to bed, falling asleep to my Summer playlist.

BEACH DAYZZZ

Summer has officially arrived and Beach Day number 1 has successfully been completed. Today, the besties and I: Nicole, Steven and Sean, went to Sauble Beach for a day of "fun in the sun".

First off. Kudos to Steven who just got his G2 a few weeks ago for making the trip with us and being our driving. Kudos II to Stevens mommy for letting him do this :) The day was epic from the start. Music wars, swimming, splashing, stories, Mad Libs, Ke$ha, QuizFest, craaaazy burns, food, mini golf, and laughs galore.

This was the first Beach Day of the summer, and there's many more to come. I am beyond stoked!!!

Oh yeah, and Song of the Week: California Gurls by Katy Perry feat. Snoop Dogg. This is my summer JAM!! Listening to it makes me just want to go to the beach again... soon my friends, soon.

OH and the video that made me laugh THE MOST this week!!! Freaking Justin Bieber being PWND by a glass door in Germany.... I watch it over and over. Epic Fail!!! BAHAHA. I still love Justin Bieber though (sorry).

It's been awhile...

Alright, my bad!!! I've been so busy with life that I haven't been able to update the blog...

So what has happened: SCHOOL IS OVER!!, Summer has started, I need a 2nd job... anyone and everyone should really let me know if anywhere is hiring. Really, I will be your best friend if you do... I promise :)

Since I haven't blogged in awhile, I need to do two songs of the week. So first up is: Break Your Heart by Taio Cruz feat. Ludacris. This song is freaking epic... it's my ringtone haha I love it.
Next is: Whatta Night by Ricky J. The song mentions Patrone, shots, and the year 1999 haha my fave :D It's my new party song, other than anything by LMFAO.

Anyway, enjoy. If all goes well tomorrow will be the most fantastic night of my year to date lol... we'll see tho.

The End of an Amazing Week

Alright, I would just love to give you full updates on the goings on of this week, but I legitimately can't remember anything prior to 20 minutes ago. The week has been THAT good! So I'm going to attempt to recap as much as I can...

This week I learned who my real friends are... not the dumb shady ones, not the ones who are going to talk about me and say crap about me, but the ones who are true to the end. my TFs.

I've had so much fun this week, even though I haven't been on March Break like everyone else. The group and I have gone bowling, bar crawling, and generally just had a blast!!! And this weekend is bound to be pretty epic too! Bowling Party II!! WIN!!!

Currently I'm sitting in class feeling horrible and want to go home... we're watching a movie and it's not even in English. I am far too tired to even attempt to comprehend any of this!

I'm just going to wait till this is done then PTFO.

Until next time...

Bowling for Patty's Day

Like I said in my last post, it's March Break for all the high school kiddies... well it's kinda been March Break for me too... EPIC.

First of all the weathers been super nice, so who really wants to be going to class... Does anyone hear SUMMER coming!?! I do!

Anyway, yesterday got to meet up with a good friend (and great person) Zach!! He's pretty great and I promised him a shoutout on the blog so there it is :). Also, some pretty awesome people-- The Faves: Nicole, Danyelle, Sam, Garrette, and Sean had a pretty epic bowling party! As usual, I sucked at bowling: final score--53, almost killed someone throwing bowling ball behind me... FAIL! Either way super fun!

TODAY was St. Patrick's Day... oh man oh man. The whole town is green and lame and drunk haha. I definitely spent the day with some pretty swell people, made new friends, saw this "Green Beer" for the first time and, as usually, fell a lot! Ps. Philthies-- GAMES NIGHT FOR HAITI?!?! Not only the coolest idea but so cute!!!

Tomorrow morning I've got an exam and this aren't lookin too bright sooo... gotta "study"...
